| Bed and Breakfasts provide short-term lodging in private homes or small buildings converted for this purpose. Usually occupied by the owner or operator, Bed and Breakfasts contain no more than 20 rooms. A continental or full-breakfast must be offered and included in the room rate. |

| A lodge is a detached building consisting of a group of single room units. A central, common area is often used for guest activities and/or relaxing. Lodges are not located next to other buildings and are no more than three (3) storeys high. Lodges are most often located in isolated areas. |

| A resort is usually a hotel with added attractions on the premises, making it a self-contained vacation experience. Resorts cater mainly to vacationers or tourists (as opposed to overnight travellers).
